The oeuvre of Phyllis Galembo is defined by her stunning portraits of both African and African Diasporan costuming and masks. Her work enables her viewers to appreciate the African religious traditions that migrated to and found new life throughout the Black Atlantic. Her work will be shown jointly at the NC State African American Cultural Center Gallery and at Meredith College in a linked exhibit organized by the Gregg Museum of Art. The exhibit opened on January 23, 2014 and will run through May 11, 2014. We hope you will visit this remarkable exhibition.
