Alternative Service Break Trips with the Women’s Center
The Alternative Service Break (ASB) trip program is a unique service-learning experience in which students engage in direct service to a community, while being immersed in the culture and customs of that community. Teams are led by student team leaders and accompanied by faculty advisors. Throughout the trip, team members participate in a variety of cultural, educational, recreational and reflective activities to enhance their service experience.
The Women’s Center has partnered with CSLEPS for two trips this year.
Alternative Service Break (ASB) Trip to Atlanta (Fall Break): In partnership with Multicultural Student Affairs and CSLEPS, this team will travel to Atlanta, GA, visiting several civil rights historical sites looking at gender equity and doing service work.
Alternative Service Break (ASB) Trip to Guatemala (Spring Break): In partnership with CSLEPS, students will travel to Guatemala on an Alternative Service Break trip. Participants will explore intersections of oppression with a focus gender issues while visiting several organizations in different cities throughout Guatemala.
