Tunnel of Oppression Actors, Guides, Volunteers Needed

The planning process is underway for the 2016 Tunnel of Oppression, an annual interactive program that examines issues of race, religion, sexual orientation, ability, nationality, gender identity and sexual violence. Participants are guided through a series of scenes designed to create awareness about contemporary examples of oppression and to help them think critically about both the nature and impact of such oppression. At the end of the tour, there is a brief facilitated discussion which helps participants process what they've seen and heard. The entire experience lasts approximately 30 minutes per group.

Which Religious Holidays Have Work Restrictions?

Several religions prohibit working on certain holidays. To aid faculty and staff with scheduling events and activities, a short list of some holidays on which students, staff or faculty may not be able to work or attend class is linked on the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity's Diversity Calendar.

Please try to avoid conflicts in scheduling major meetings, exams and other obligations, and work with students, faculty and staff to accommodate these observances. See also the Faculty Diversity website for more information.
