According to statistics, 9 out of 10 GLBT students have experienced harassment at school. In addition, GLBT teens are bullied 2 to 3 times as much as straight teens, and more than a third have attempted suicide. Attend this rally to learn more about Diversity Education Week in general and how to support diverse communities at the university.

Mis Education of Columbus on Trial, 6:00PM-7:30 PM, Washington Sankofa Room-AACC
A look at American justice and reconsideration of this historic voyage. The program will analyze the impact of Columbus on the "new world" outlook from various cultural contexts. Program participants will review evidence, hear testimonies, and experience legal arguments for the prosecution and defense of Columbus' actions in the "discovery" of America. Ms. Ferrera, an American actress and producer, is best known for her leading role as Betty Suarez on the ABC television series Ugly Betty. Ferrera recently traveled to India to take part in the PBS film, Half the Sky, which debuts October 1. Based on the novel, it draws a compelling picture of the trials and triumphs of women worldwide.
