NC State Community
Diversity Education Week promotes awareness and understanding of diverse cultures, fosters intercultural understanding, advances learning and scholarship, builds respect among different peoples, and enhances constructive leadership and dialogue in our local and global community. In its 5th year, NC State’s Annual Diversity Education Week is a joint initiative of the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity and the UAB Diversity Activities Board. This year's events include:

Additional Laverne Cox
Tickets Now Available
The GLBT Center is partnering with several campus and community partners to bring critically acclaimed actress and transgender advocate Laverne Cox to campus. The event is cosponsored by the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, Student Health Services, University Recreation, Union Activities Board, University Scholars Program, Women’s Center, Women’s and Gender Studies, BASF Chemical Company and healthMpowerment.

Laverne Cox, who currently appears in the Netflix original series Orange is the New Black, will visit NC State on November 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Talley Student Union Ballroom. There are now 200 additional tickets available for reserve online by current NC State students, staff and faculty. Tickets will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 12 PM today, and each person may reserve only one ticket. Reserve a seat for the event on the GLBT Center website. Tickets will go quickly, so reserve yours now!
