Students Can Now Take Asian-American Culture Course

FL 394, which will examine Asian-American culture and literature, will be offered at NC State for the first time next semester. This is the first course of its kind to be offered at NC State. Spaces are still available and students are encouraged to enroll.

The class uses music, novels, television, essays and short films to discuss the unique histories, cultural experiences and legacies of institutional discrimination experienced by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Students will examine how these experiences and voices played a critical role in the emergence of Asian American Studies on college campuses and their role in the evolution of civil rights discourse in the United States. This is a World Literature course, fulfilling GEP GK and HUM credits. For more information, contact Dr. Nathanial Isaacson.
