Women's Center Launches Sexual Assault Helpline
In partnership with the Counseling Center, the Women’s Center has launched the Sexual Assault Helpline (919-515-4444), which replaces the former Relationship and Sexual Violence (RSVP) Line as NC State's main crisis intervention phone line for students dealing with sexual or relationship violence and stalking.

NC State Earns Place in Top Minority STEM Graduates Rankings
The July 28, 2016 edition of Diverse Issues in Higher Education ranks NC State 27th in this year's rankings of Total Minority Bachelor's Degrees in Engineering and 33rd for Master's Degrees in Engineering. Data for the analysis was obtained from the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics based on degrees conferred during the 2013-14 academic year.

GLBT Center and Counseling Center Offer Groups for Safe Support
Do you or a student you know identify on the trans spectrum (transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, gender queer, gender fluid or gender questioning)? Be part of a support-based counseling group with other trans-identified students to discuss and explore gender within a shared community. The Counseling Center offers a weekly Transcending and Connecting Group on Wednesdays from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Students who are interested in joining can contact Jenny Glassmire-Policari to schedule a brief screening appointment.
Looking for a safe, confidential space to talk about life (roommate conflict, academic struggles, coming out, dating, etc.)? The Counseling Center offers a weekly LGBTQQ Counseling Group. NC State’s Annual Diversity Education Week Call for Programs
Program submissions for Diversity Education Week (DEW) are now being accepted. Registered student organizations, university offices, departments, and colleges are invited to host programs and events during the 7th Annual Diversity Education Week, which will take place Monday, October 17- Friday, October 21, 2016.
To submit a confirmed program/event that you will sponsor during Diversity Education Week and have it added to the formal calendar of events, please complete the DEW Event Submission Form with the following details by Friday, September 16, 2016. Examples of programs include lectures, workshops, panel and group discussions, film, food, music, dance and more.
The coordination of Diversity Education Week is a joint initiative of the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity, Student Government, Diversity Outreach, UAB, Diversity Activities Board. | |

Diversity Mini-Grant Program Now Accepting Proposals
All full-time, part-time and temporary university employees, faculty and staff are eligible to apply for a Diversity Mini-Grant. Proposals must meet the mini-grant program guidelines and will be selected by a committee appointed by the vice provost. All eligible proposals must be submitted online by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016. The maximum proposal request is $3,000.00. Announcement of grant recipients will be made by November 2016.
The University Diversity Mini-Grant serves as a seed grant to enhance or build an initiative. Previously funded proposals may reapply. However, proposals will only be funded for a maximum of two (2) years.
