Stop by the GLBT Center on Mondays from 5-7 PM and hang out in the lounge. The weekly Monday Movies & Mingling is designed to be a multipurpose drop-in space for students who want to study, connect with friends, watch a movie, play games, or meet other GLBT and Ally students.

oSTEM is a professional organization for GLBT students majoring in STEM fields. The oSTEM student organization is the NC State chapter of the national professional organization ( oSTEM meets once a month to discuss issues of importance for GLBT students preparing to enter STEM fields. Past meeting topics have included panel discussions featuring “out” professionals, workshops on developing resumes, mock interviews, etc. oSTEM is a great way for students to learn the skills they need to succeed, whether they are looking for summer internships, co-ops, or full-time jobs after graduation.

Counseling Center Drop In

The Counseling Center will host its weekly Drop-In Counseling Hours on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in the GLBT Center Lounge (Talley 5230). Stop by if you want to talk about anything (classes, family, identity, stress, etc.).

GLBT History Month

October 2015


The 2015 GLBT History Month celebration will kick off on Thursday, October 1 with the “Recognizing and Responding to Microaggressions” workshop from 2:00-4:00 PM. To register for this workshop, click here. In addition, The Movement will host a SlutWalk on Thursday beginning at 5:00 PM in the Stafford Commons to raise awareness about sexual violence and victim blaming. For more information about the remaining GLBT History Month events, please visit the GLBT History Month page.

GLBT Advocate Program

The GLBT Advocate Program is intended to be a continuing education and engagement program for NC State faculty and staff. The Program is designed to provide faculty and staff with ongoing opportunities for learning and for showing their support as Allies and Advocates of the GLBT community. Faculty and staff who would like to participate in the Program agree to complete one educational workshop and attend one GLBT event on campus each year.
