Giving to Diversity and Equity at NC State

The Office for Institutional Equity & Diversity (OIED) helps to foster an inclusive, accessible, and diverse NC State campus through a rich array of programs, services, and events, but we do not do our work alone. In many ways, we depend heavily on friends and allies, not just locally, but also nationally and globally.

Making a Monetary Donation

OIED values the commitment of your monetary donation. In recent years, NC State and OIED have experienced a reduction of resources that fund many of our critical programs and services. Your donation helps to ensure that we can continue the important work that we do. To make your contribution online to the Diversity and Equity Fund, please go to NC State Giving.

OIED welcomes your gift of time. Whether you would like to volunteer as a literacy mentor for local youth with Read to L.E.A.D., assist The Movement’s peer educators, train to staff the Molly Glander Hayes Relationship and Sexual Violence Phone line (RSVP) in the Women’s Center; participate in lectures, readings, community dinners, or visit the art gallery in the African American Cultural Center; help to strengthen GLBT Center programs on campus; mentor students in Multicultural Student Affairs; mentor faculty members as part of the Multicultural Faculty Group, the Council on the Status of Women, or any of OIED’s other constitutent focus groups; or simply serve as an event or program volunteer within any of our units, we welcome your time. Please contact Lisa Pierson at 919-515-1151.

National Diversity Advisory Board

For those who have a high level of commitment to diversity and equity at NC State, the National Diversity Advisory Board (NDAB) is a group of NC State alumni and friends who have achieved a position within their chosen profession that enables them to give back of their “time, talent, and treasure.” The NDAB meets semi-annually on campus to convene about important topics in the areas of advancing diversity and equity at NC State. Please see National Diversity Advisory Board for more information.
