The Native American Student Association turns 30!

The Native American Student Association (NASA) is a student organization that has served the American Indian students on campus for the past 30 years. On March 23, 2012 past and present Presidents came to share this memorable event to kick off the 30th year celebration. The theme “Embracing the Past, Educating the Future” is a clear indication of the focus of this organization. Multicultural Student Affairs would like to thank all of the students past an present that have preserved the legacy of NASA and we look forward to the years to come. Once again congratulations, NASA!!!!

Ebony Harlem Awards!

The Ebony Harlem Awards began as a way of honoring exceptional students within the African American community at N.C. State. In the past, members from outside of the NCSU community would come to State to present students with awards.

Today, the Ebony Harlem Awards ceremony is a collaboration between African American Student Affairs, the African American Cultural Center and the African American Heritage Society. Exceptional students, faculty and staff are nominated by their fellow peers to receive awards ranging from excellence in sports to excellence in service.

The Ebony Harlem Awards honors outstanding male and female students in each award category. Faculty and staff also receive awards for their humble service to students. Students and/or organizations are nominated by their peers and/or faculty/staff members in the following categories: Drama, Literary, Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Art, Service, Leadership, Distinguished Person.

This year’s Ebony Harlem Awards Program will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 6:30 PM in the Campus Cinema and African American Cultural Center, Witherspoon Student Center.

Accepting Applications for 2012 Symposium Counselors! The application process for the recruitment of counselors for the 2012 Symposiums has begun. Please review the links below for information and access to the actual application.

If you would like further information please attend one of the sessions scheduled this week. If you are not able to attend an information session, the link below details the requirements regarding the application process and recruitment.
