Bayard Rustin Commemorative Art Unveiling

Bayard Rustin, a gay man, was a civil rights activist alongside Martin Luther King, Jr. Artist Susan Woodson, also the wife of Chancellor Randy Woodson, commemorates both the civil and gay rights movements in this work, which was unveiled on the evening of Monday April 9, 2012 at the Roundabout Art Collective in Raleigh. Titled Gateway to Change, the art will eventually be placed in the GLBT Center's new Talley Student Center location.
