Film Series: Miss Representation This film, by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in October 2011. The film explores how the media's misrepresentations of women have led to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence. The film will be facilitated by Dr. Deborah Hooker, Director of Women's and Gender Studies, NCSU and Dr. Christina L. Moss, Department of Communications, NCSU. Clothesline Project Painting Sessions This project honors survivors of sexual violence as well as those who have experienced dating violence or stalking or violence as a result of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Participants are invited to paint t-shirts representing their experiences or one of a loved one. Shirts will be displayed on March 28th during Take Back the Night in the Talley Ballroom.
