10th Annual Chocolate Festival for Breast Cancer Research

The 10th annual Chocolate Festival comes to Carmichael Gymnasium on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 4:00PM-7:00PM. The event typically sells out, but tickets are still available through Ticket Central ($10 for students and $15 for the general public). Attendees will enjoy chocolate samples from participating vendors.

The Chocolate Festival isn’t just about chocolate. It’s about breast cancer. Attendees will be provided with information concerning the prevention, early detection, and treatment of breast cancer with the help of several Raleigh resources.

Organized by the NC State Women's Center, the festival gives a portion of the proceeds to Friends of the Women's Center, an NC State Foundation, and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. Come be a part of this wonderful NC State tradition!

American Indian UNC System Faculty Forum at NC State

The 2013 American Indian UNC System Faculty forum will be held at the Friday Institute, Centennial Campus on November 11, 2013, 8:00AM- 5:00PM. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Bryan Brayboy. Dr. Brayboy is Borderlands Professor of Indigenous Education and Justice and Director of the Center for Indian Education, Arizona State University. The primary goal of this event is to promote networking and collaboration among American Indian faculty and allies from across the UNC System. Register online.

Campus Climate for Interpersonal Violence Prevention: Your Opinion

The Women's Center is conducting a research study on the NC State campus climate for interpersonal violence prevention. It is seeking NC State undergraduate students to participate in a quick, online survey that should only take about 15 minutes. The deadline for completing the survey is October 17, 2013 at 5:00PM. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and anonymous. It is important to have as much input as possible in making decisions that affect our campus community. Thank you for helping us better understand the climate for interpersonal violence prevention and the perception of the Women's Center here at NC State.
