- Admited Students' Visitation Day - A multicultural visitation day is held each spring by the Undergraduate Admissions Office for accepted students.
- Summer START: Now beginning its second year, NC State University's Summer START program is designed to assist new freshmen with the transition from high school to college. Through five weeks of academic and social programming, you become acclimated to life at NC State, understand what support programs are available to you and develop important academic skills that will help you succeed in college and in life.

Diversity Research, Evaluation, and Impact
It is important to the success of diversity initiatives that campuses assess the effectiveness of their efforts. It is also essential to convey the results of research to the general public to increase awareness of and support for diversity in higher education. This section includes research and assessment information about the diversity programs and practices in higher education. The ERIC Clearinghouse on Higher Education is a database containing more than 850,000 abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice. In addition, the University of Maryland diversity database has extensive listings of diversity research and resources.

Promoting Diversity
There are many different ways NC State students, faculty and staff can become involved and promote diversity on campus. One of the easiest ways is to get to know someone whom you perceive as being different from you. Trying to see the world from their point of view will expand your world view. The following list of suggestions and resources will enhance your awareness, knowledge, and understanding of diversity on our campus and in society.
