Harambee! A Campus Celebration of 30 Years of Home at NC State

Harambee! Block Party

To commemorate thirty years of the African American Cultural Center and its supporters, partners and friends, we invite our community to join our anniversary celebration, “Creating Home: Through Time and Space.”

This year the African American Cultural Center celebrates home with its annual Harambee! event, a celebration of a unified campus community that pulls together. The event will take place on Harris Field on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 from 3–6 p.m. in front of the Witherspoon Student Center. Not only will we celebrate the enduring legacy of Dr. Augustus Witherspoon, but through celebration, we engage in home-making, fortifying spaces where we can be in community with one another.

Join us as we open the doors to Witherspoon to showcase the African American Cultural Center, Student Media, Military and Veterans Affairs and a number of campus partners. Enjoy savory cuisine from an assortment of food trucks; jam to the tunes of DJ Jaypee; tour our Alumni Art Exhibit; and gather in conversation as we share food, fun and games.

Harambee! welcomes our students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members.
