Summer Symposium is an educational and transitional experience sponsored by the Department of Multicultural Student Affairs in partnership with START on the Saturday(June 28, 2014) after summer classes begin. Its purpose is to foster a sense of community for incoming summer students and to provide: information about how to achieve academic success, sharing the differences between summer and fall/spring semester, campus/cultural understanding and resources, meeting successful upper class students, and learning about additional organizations, opportunities, and activities. Those who participate in Symposium develop strong student and campus connections and generally have a higher gpa’s during their first semester/session. Both of these achievements will help prepare you for the future of your college career.
