NC State Now Provides Title IX Training

Student Success Title IX training

The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity is pleased to announce NC State’s procurement of the Student Success™ Every Choice online bystander intervention program, an online training program available for all students, and Student Success™ Not Anymore online training program for all graduate students, faculty and staff.

NC State is committed to our responsibility to help protect and maintain the safety and well-being of our faculty, staff and students. As such, we are working proactively to keep our campus community informed and well-educated on issues involving discrimination and harassment. As part of this effort and consistent with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA) and its Campus Sexual Violence Act (SaVE Act) provision, NC State is offering training to students and employees on primary prevention and promoting awareness of rape, acquaintance rape, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.

At this time, the training is required for all individuals designated as Responsible Employees and strongly encouraged for all other faculty, staff and students. The training program is at no cost to faculty, staff and students and is offered from February 3, 2017 through April 3, 2017.

We strongly recommend that all students, faculty and staff take this training. The training will become mandatory for all students and new faculty and staff beginning in the fall of 2017. Go to https://studentsuccess.org/SSO/ncsu to access the training. The training can be taken in multiple sessions and at your convenience between now and April 3, 2017.

Thank you for your participation in this critical program and for your efforts in helping ensure that NC State is a safe and welcoming place for all.

A responsible employee includes any employee: who has the authority to take action to redress sexual violence; who has been given the duty of reporting incidents of sexual violence or any other misconduct by students to the Title IX Coordinator or other appropriate school designees; or an employee whom a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.
