Marcela Torres-Cervantes Joins Multicultural Student Affairs

Marcela Torres-Cervantes is the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity’s new assistant director for community outreach and engagement within Multicultural Student Affairs. Torres-Cervantes will build partnerships to address the educational needs and challenges of various underrepresented and marginalized communities and support Hispanic/Latinx students at NC State.

Torres-Cervantes, who uses the pronouns she/her/hers, comes to NC State from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where she earned her M.Ed. in college student affairs administration and most recently worked as an educational program specialist in multicultural services and programs. Born in Monterrey, Mexico and raised in Sampson County, North Carolina, Marcela is thrilled about continuing to work with multicultural students and celebrating their underrepresented stories.
