Soroptimist $5,000 Live Your Dream Educational Grants

Soroptimist International of Raleigh is accepting applications for education grants for eligible undergraduates or students in vocational skills training. The first place educational grant is $5,000 plus two additional grants of $2,000 each. The Soroptimist’ Live Your Dream grants are cash awards given to motivated women who are primary financial supporters of their families. The grant recipients are women seeking to improve their lives by gaining additional skills training or education but do not have the resources to do so. This is a needs-based award.

Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Each year, Soroptimist International awards more than $1.5 million to more than 1,000 women, many of whom have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, domestic violence and drug or alcohol abuse. Award recipients may use the cash award to offset essential costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare, tuition, childcare or transportation.

Soroptimist International of Raleigh, will host two information sessions on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Dress for Success, 1812 Tillery Place, Raleigh, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and 5:00-6:30 p.m. Students and counselors are welcome.
