The first steps in developing cultural competence are open attitude, self-awareness and ‘other’ awareness. The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity introduces some of these concepts and how to address issues of discrimination, oppression and controversial issues through NCBI Workshops. The National Coalition Building Institute is comprised of faculty, staff and student facilitators trained in delivering the award-winning curriculum.
As a critical starting point in preparing individuals for international experiences and intercultural interactions, GTI is offering a day-long workshop to all NC State University faculty, staff and students on May 14, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. We ask participants to bring their own lunch. Coffee and tea will be provided.
