The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity invites all students, staff and faculty to attend our fall signature events, beginning with the Campus Community Centers Open House on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center (see article). Get to know our centers as they welcome you back to campus and all year long.

Also this month, attend the National Coalition Building Institute’s team member interest meeting on August 23, 2018. Are you ready to take your contribution to NC State up a notch by learning how to become a facilitator of prejudice reduction workshops right here on campus? Join our nationally-recognized chapter affiliate and get ready to make a difference. If you have not taken the day-long NCBI workshop, there will be two offerings this fall, one in September and one in November.

September

The African American Cultural Center hosts its annual Harambee! Celebration on September 6, 2018. Swahili for “Let us come together,” Harambee! celebrates the new academic year, welcoming incoming students, faculty and staff to the community. This year’s Harambee! celebration will mark the African American Cultural Center’s 27th anniversary.

The Equal Opportunity Institute begins its orientations for 2018-19 in September. This award-winning year-long certificate program of diversity and equity workshops will hold three orientation sessions for new participants during the month.
