Counterstorytelling: The Politicization and Sexualization of Black Bodies on November 10

On November 10, 2018, the NC State Women’s Center will curate stories for our annual spring exhibition in partnership with the African American Cultural Center. The theme for the Spring 2019 exhibition is The Politicization and Sexualization of Black Bodies. We invite our campus community of students, staff and faculty to join us in this guided two-hour writing workshop, where we will curate stories for the exhibit. No prior writing experience is necessary. This workshop is a recommended prerequisite for the painting workshop with Durham artist Gemynii on December 5, 2018 (which is limited to 20 participants). Preference will be given to those who attend this writing workshop. To register, visit go.ncsu.edu/blackbodies-storytelling.

Workshop details: Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the African American Cultural Center Art Gallery (Witherspoon Student Center, 2nd floor). For questions, please email acgay@ncsu.edu or stop by the Women’s Center in Talley Student Center, Suite, Suite 5210.
