All Latinx/Hispanic Faculty, Staff and Allies Invited to Join Group

Latinx students

The Hispanic/Latino Advisory Group (HLAG), convened by the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity, is an advisory group comprised of students, faculty, staff, administrators and community leaders that ensures that the needs of current and future Hispanic/Latinx students are met at NC State.

One of our members, Melissa Betancur, shares about her experiences with HLAG:

“Since my involvement in HLAG as an undergraduate, I have seen the great impact HLAG has on students, staff and faculty. HLAG provides a space for us all to come together to talk about events, initiatives or seek assistance with new projects that will help promote the Latinx community on campus and surrounding areas. As a Latina in Higher Education, it is necessary to see more Latinx folks come together to continue these initiatives to help future generations of Latinx groups on campus.”

The Hispanic/Latino Advisory Group invites new members to join us for our monthly meetings as we discuss new initiatives and ways we can work together across campus and disciplines to increase opportunities for our Latinx/Hispanic faculty, staff and student body.

Please see the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity’s Committees page to obtain contact information and the meeting schedule for the group.
