Are You a Non-Traditional Student?

The BackTrackers is a student organization with a vision and mission to identify, embrace, support and advocate on behalf of nontraditional students and give them a place to belong and a way to connect with other students and the NC State community.

A non-traditional student for the purposes of this organization is any student who attends NC State who did not transition into college directly from high school; or who, after attending college for a time, pursued other life or career options prior to resuming collegiate enrollment; those who identify as being an ESL or international student; students who are exclusively distance education students; active service members or veterans; and students, regardless of age, who may have transitioned to NC State immediately following high school but who for other reasons such as marriage, parenthood or disability do not fit the definition of a traditional student.

Please join us for Spring Semester 2016 lounge hours in the 1911 building in Room 126/127 on Mondays from 12:00-2:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Lounge hours are designated as a place to hang out, eat lunch, meet others, plan social events and network with other non-traditional students.
