CALS Opening Doors Retreat Announced for Fall

Opening Doors is a three-day retreat that provides a framework for increasing diversity awareness and enhances a person’s ability to create an inclusive organization. The format of Opening Doors provides for open discussion, self-examination and a constructive means to bridge differences through understanding personal responsibility. Over the past nine years, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) has implemented it as a foundational component of its work to foster a more inclusive environment.

All Opening Doors sessions are held at the Eastern 4-H Center. The next session will be held September 14-16, 2016. Opening Doors is open and free to all county-based, off-campus and campus-based faculty and staff within CALS. Through a long-standing partnership with the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity, several seats are also reserved for NC State employees who are not in CALS. The workshop is absolutely free and includes all meals, lodging, and educational materials.
