GLBT CENTER UPCOMING EVENTS CALENDAR
The GLBT Center sponsors a wide variety of events on campus throughout the year. Check the calendar below for upcoming events and workshops to get involved and stay current.
Need a quiet place to study? Drop by the GLBT Center Lounge for GLBTCA Study Hours.
Part of the mission of the GLBT Center is to provide ongoing support for GLBT faculty and staff on campus. To fulfill that mission, the GLBT Center coordinates the GLBT Faculty and Staff Network in order to provide an opportunity for GLBT faculty and staff to connect and form community, to supply informal and formal feedback about campus climate, to support and mentor GLBT students, and to connect with prospective GLBT faculty and staff members. The Network meets once a month. Check our calendar for meeting details. If you would like to join the Network, please contact Renee Wells, Director of the GLBT Center, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Social class is an aspect of identity that too often goes undiscussed and unanalyzed. The impact of class oppression and the dynamics of classism have a profound effect on our daily lives. This two-hour workshop is open to NC State undergraduates, graduate students, staff, faculty and alumni as well as interested members of the local community. This workshop will help participants critically examine their own social location with respect to class, increase their understanding of the way classism operates, and increase their ability to interrupt classist attitudes and actions. To register for this workshop, visit https://oied.ncsu.edu/divweb/glbt/glbt-advocates-program/.
Stop by the GLBT Center on Mondays from 5-7 PM and hang out in the lounge. The weekly Monday Movies & Mingling is designed to be a multipurpose drop-in space for students who want to study, connect with friends, watch a movie, play games, or meet other GLBT and Ally students.
Bi/Pan @ NCSU is an interest group serving the needs of students who identify along the bi/pan sexual or romantic spectra and their allies. Bi/Pan @ NCSU meets twice a month on Mondays at 7 p.m. and provides a safe space for bisexual, pansexual, flexible, queer, curious or questioning students to feel affirmed, address challenges and build community through networking and solidarity via topic-led discussions and sharing experiences among other students with similar identities.
