Chat & Chew: "Carrying it All: A discussion on balancing advocacy and self-care as a Black American" @ MSA Suite (Talley 4261)

Bring your lunch and join the Counseling Center and Multicultural Student Affairs for “Carrying it All”! As Black Americans continue the fight for equity through their activism it is important to recognize the responsibility and challenges that come along the way. In this discussion, we will focus on different ways students can advocate for themselves and others. We will also spend time discussing strategies for finding a balance between advocacy and self-care practices. Students are encouraged to identify what it means to be an advocate, both on a micro and macro level, and ways to practice self-care as it relates to this role. This discussion aims to provide a space for students to share their experiences, provide support to others, and learn additional ways that they can care for themselves during times of stress.

Through the radical act of truth telling Jill aims to help us move away from polarized categories towards unity.

NCSU Ektaa proudly presents Oak City Revolution 2019, NC State’s fourth annual Bollywood Fusion Dance Competition held at Stewart Theater. We are excited to host some of the nation’s best collegiate dance teams and represent our charities, Kiran and Pratham, where proceeds from this event will be donated to.
Pratham USA is a charity whose aim is to provide education to children in India.
Kiran, Inc. is a non profit organization that serves to empower South Asian victims of domestic violence.
