Chat & Chew: "Carrying it All: A discussion on balancing advocacy and self-care as a Black American" @ MSA Suite (Talley 4261)

Bring your lunch and join the Counseling Center and Multicultural Student Affairs for “Carrying it All”! As Black Americans continue the fight for equity through their activism it is important to recognize the responsibility and challenges that come along the way. In this discussion, we will focus on different ways students can advocate for themselves and others. We will also spend time discussing strategies for finding a balance between advocacy and self-care practices. Students are encouraged to identify what it means to be an advocate, both on a micro and macro level, and ways to practice self-care as it relates to this role. This discussion aims to provide a space for students to share their experiences, provide support to others, and learn additional ways that they can care for themselves during times of stress.
