The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs strives to improve the student experience through the development of unique social and networking, person and professional enrichment, and community engagement programs that are open to graduate and professional students of all disciplines at NC State University. We endeavor to bring together graduate students from different backgrounds and programs to create a more lively, unified, and enriched interdisciplinary community.

2nd Annual Multicultural Graduate Student Orientation
Date: August 25th
Location: Talley Student Union
Description: Join MSA and your fellow graduate students for a day filled with information about opportunities that enhance graduate students’ academic experience and knowledge of campus resources as well as other strategies for success. The orientation intends to help foster a sense of community and provide a foundation to ensure students are able to maximize their experience on our campus. Attendance is by registration only.
The Traveling Mixtape Series

Description: The Traveling Mixtape Series is a series of events centered around professional growth, new experiences, providing resources and support for graduate students’ academic, professional and personal well being. The Fall 2019 series will cover a range of topics in an effort to address a wide variety of students’ needs.
August 29th – Mixing with MSA
Description: Excited to be back on campus? Want to build community and meet people outside of your cohort? Come Mix N’ Mingle with the MSA Staff to learn more about our office as well as meet other graduate students in different programs. Light refreshments will be provided.
September 10th – Writing Away Imposter Syndrome
Description: Imposter syndrome comes in many forms. Join Dr. Shannon Madden of The Graduate School for a workshop focused on overcoming the inner writing monster that keeps us from doing our best!
October 17th – Money Matters
Description: Getting used to living on a graduate student budget? MSA can help. Join us for a budget overhaul where we discuss tips and tricks to creating and sticking to a budget.
November 12th – Studying Abroad in Grad School
