OUR EVENTS

Throughout each academic year, the Women’s Center hosts a variety of events for students, staff, faculty, and community members. Most of our events are open to anyone and are designed to increase awareness and understanding of our community. For more information about upcoming events, check out our calendar.

Women’s Center Fall Open House
Aug 21 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Join the Women’s Center (Talley 5210), GLBT Center (Talley 5230), and Multicultural Student Affairs (Talley 4261) from 1-3 PM as we welcome new and returning students to our annual fall Open House. Meet the staff, make new friends, and enjoy free food. Also make sure to stop by the African American Cultural Center (Witherspoon 355) from 2-4 PM for their Open House.

WOCR Interest Meeting @ Talley 4101

Come find out more about the Womxn of Color Retreat during our Interest Session. Information will be shared regarding the purpose of the retreat, the date, time, and location of the Womxn of Color Retreat, where and how to register, and all other important logistical information. No registration required. Bringing a friend is highly encouraged!

Respect the Pack

Join over 600 students, faculty and staff in making a commitment to support the values of equality and mutual respect for all people in our diverse community at NC State. Respect the Pack, an event which brings the campus community together, students, faculty and staff alike, paints the Free Expression Tunnel while enjoying performances from diverse student organizations.

Information session to learn more about the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Local-to-Global-to-Local Leadership Training Program and application process for the 2018-19 academic year.

KOD Listening Party @ Women's Center
Aug 24 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join the Women’s Center for a listening party for J. Cole’s 2018 album, KOD. Come ready to listen to and discuss the themes featured in KOD including Black Masculinity within American society and higher education, drug use in the Black Community, and connections to Michelle Alexander’s, The New Jim Crow and this year’s common read $2.00 a Day: Living on Almost Nothing in America. This program is a part of the College of Education passport program and on the University Scholars Program Calendar. Open to the entire campus community. Partners include the Black Male Initiative and AYA Ambassadors.

Drop-in Counseling

A counselor from the NCSU Counseling Center will be available at the Women’s Center every Monday from 2-4pm for walk-in appointments and consultations with students. Private rooms are available.
