Monday Movies & Mingling

Stop by the GLBT Center on Mondays from 5-7 PM and hang out in the lounge. The weekly Monday Movies & Mingling is designed to be a multipurpose drop-in space for students who want to study, connect with friends, watch a movie, play games, or meet other GLBT and Ally students.

Drop-In Counseling Hours

Tuesday, Apr. 26
2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
GLBT Center Lounge

In partnership with the NC State Counseling Center, drop-in counseling is available to any student without an appointment and free-of-charge every Tuesday afternoon in the GLBT Center lounge. A licensed counselor will be available to meet with students, consultations, and schedule appointments. Students do not have to identity as GLBT to use weekly drop-in counseling.

HIV & STI Testing

Wednesday, Apr. 27

The Alliance of AIDS Services – Carolina will provide FREE and CONFIDENTIAL HIV and STI testing. No insurance paperwork or appointment required.

Stop by and request HIV (rapid and traditional), syphilis, Gonorrhea/chlamydia, and hepatitis C testing. Free safer sex supplies (latex and non-latex condoms, female condoms, lubricant and dental dams) will also be available. Click here to view spring testing dates.

T-Files Meeting

The mission of T-Files is to provide a safe space for transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and gender questioning students to explore and affirm their identities, build community, and create a welcoming environment at NC State. Through participation in this confidential support group, students can freely share their experiences, foster positive relationships, and become advocates for one another’s safety, health, and well-being. T-Files is a closed group; if you are interested in joining, please contact Andy DeRoin.

The GLBT Graduate Student and Young Professionals Network (GSYPN) provides a space for GLBT graduate students to connect, form community, network, and discuss relevant professional issues. Twice a Month
6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

QPOC (Queer People of Color) is a monthly meeting that provides a safe space for African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, Native American, multi-racial, and communities of color who identify as GLBTQ. QPOC provides a space for students to share their experiences, discuss how their racial/ethnic and GLBT identities influence each other, and connect with other students who are navigating multiple communities and what that can mean in terms of feeling welcome, accepted, and included.


GLBT Advocate Program

The GLBT Advocate Program is intended to be a continuing education and engagement program for NC State faculty and staff. The Program is designed to provide faculty and staff with ongoing opportunities for learning and for showing their support as Allies and Advocates of the GLBT community. Faculty and staff who would like to participate in the Program agree to complete one educational workshop and attend one GLBT event on campus each year.
