Leah Young joined the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) team in June 2016 as the assistant director for African American student affairs in Multicultural Student Affairs. Prior to coming to NC State, she served as a residence hall coordinator at the University of Delaware. During her time at UD, Leah supervised 16 resident assistants, chaired the UJIMA and Cultural Celebration and Exploration committees and received grant funding for co-creating a Diversity Institute with one of her colleagues.

Leah holds a B.A. in Justice Studies from James Madison University and an M.S. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University. Leah’s passions include empowering student leaders and facilitating student engagement through programming and service-learning. When not working, Leah enjoys reading, watching movies, shopping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
