Promote Social Justice through Literacy with Read to L.E.A.D.

Read to L.E.A.D is a mentoring experience offered by Multicultural Student Affairs that partners with AmeriCorps. The program uses literacy as a tool to promote social justice, equality and diversity. Mentors choose The Boys and Girls Club and/or Neighbor 2 Neighbor. Mentors must attend a training session preparing them to work with children and commit to spending 12 weeks at the location with their mentees. Transportation is provided to off-site locations for mentors who do not have cars. The weekly time commitment is 1.5 hours to work and build life skills through various activities with mentees on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:45-6:30 p.m.
