The Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity’s Outreach and Education unit welcomes Erin Morant as its new program coordinator. Erin will coordinate OIED’s diversity and equity training offerings, including open enrollment workshops, the Equal Opportunity Institute and National Coalition Building Institute workshops.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Erin Morant moved to North Carolina at an early age and earned her B.A. in Political Science and African American Studies in 2005 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Immediately thereafter, she began her career in higher education at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before accepting a position at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While there, she worked as an academic advisor and program coordinator within the College of Engineering, specifically helping new transfer students and those facing academic jeopardy. During her time there, she was instrumental in developing the Transfer Student Symposium and developed course content for the Transfer Student Seminar Program.

She is passionate about diversity, creating an inclusive environment and the Carolina Panthers.
