What is Staff Diversity at NC State?
NC State staff are the backbone of the university, providing supporting vital services and functions including laboratory preparation, student advisement, facilities maintenance and myriad administrative processes.
Members of the Staff Diversity Advisory Board also contribute time and energy to enhancing the environment to facilitate productivity and effectiveness in support of the university’s mission to Think and Do.
The Director of Staff Diversity, in collaboration with members of the University Diversity Advisory Committee and the Staff Diversity Advisory Board, studied the results of the 2014 Staff Well-Being Survey and crafted a report and recommendations for improving the work environment for NC State staff employees. The recommendations were endorsed by the Staff Senate and submitted to the University Diversity Advisory Committee for their feedback.

Staff Diversity promotes inclusion by supporting various Common Interest Groups for underrepresented minorities, women and others whose common experiences bring them together.
Our connecting activities include the annual conference on leadership and diversity, the award-winning Connect with NC State website, and opportunities for advice and feedback from the Staff Senate Diversity Committee and the Staff Diversity Advisory Board.
